On April 9th, 2025, 20:30, at Voltahalle Basel, the
Interfinity Festival, in collaboration with
NCCR AntiResist at the
Biozentrum Basel, presents
“Surviving Superbugs – A Dance To Resist”. This unique interdisciplinary dance performance sheds light on the growing threat of antibiotic resistance. Through the fusion of science, choreography, music, and visual arts, the event vividly illustrates the complex mechanisms behind bacterial resistance to antibiotics and the ongoing battle against “superbugs.”
Internationally acclaimed choreographer Giuseppe Spota and his MiR dance ensemble, alongside award-winning composer Yair Klartag and visual artist Michele Innocente, take the audience on a captivating journey into the human body, exploring the microscopic battleground where antibiotics and resistant bacteria clash. The performance is narrated by Dr. Henry Legg, who skillfully bridges the worlds of science and art to communicate the grave risks posed by this “silent pandemic.”
